Saw her last Thursday a lovely voice, charming lady .

At the risk of being controversial , I would just say that buying second hand CDs at Poundland does reduce income streams for many artists who aren’t in the fortunate position of being financially secure .

Not as much as Spotify, Ian!

That is one of my reservations about streaming, I want the artist to make a livelihood from my buying his / her/ their works . I have fewer qualms when faced with buying second hand material from an artist such as Sinatra but what about the artists who are not making vast quantities of wonga?

Not to divert the thread too much, but I recently bought 2 CD’s by the band Moonchild from their own website. These were cheaper than on the River, and included a hand written note from the band thanking me for the support!

Going to hear Trifonov plays this piece in a few weeks. I only have an excellent Sokolov’s set but decided to check out another piano version.

Here Christmas show is always very good, last years at Farnham Maltings was terrific, she usually tours this each year!

Thanks Chris, I bought her Christmas album as well , I got the impression that she appeared quite regularly at the Arlington Arts Centre, so will look out for her again

From a market stall in Devizes yesterday (£1.50 each):

Thin Lizzy: Live & Dangerous
Vangelis: Chariots of Fire

Both old 80s pressings. I’ll be interested to compare the Vangelis to the remastered version I’ve got.

I’ve never heard the Thin Lizzy before (yes, yes, philistine that I am, save your disbelief) but listening to it shows why it’s rightly famous.

Following a great spot by Apye on another thread…

…Antonio & Seckou…

…and that lead on to Seckou & Catrin…

…and then I needed to add another 18p to get free postage…

…OK, it was a bit more than 18p but what the ‘eck!
