Just arrived – the big limited edition Charles Lloyd 80th birthday box box set: Two CDs, three vinyl LPs, a DVD, book, prints, signed, numbered etc:
After seeing it many times in the “What are you listening to right now” thread, Rickie Lee Jones’ eponym CD.
I understand the interest - good songs and a mix of acoustic and electric instruments that sounds great on a Naim system.
Claude

Norman Granz (August 6, 1918 – November 22, 2001)
Norman Granz was a fundamental figure in American jazz, especially from about 1947 to 1960. He was the founder of five record labels; Clef, Norgran, Down Home, Verve, and Pablo.
Granz was acknowledged as “the most successful impresario in the history of jazz”.
Granz is also known for his anti-racist position and for integrating audiences.
Great price - I paid over £20.
Hi Richard,
A bit of bad luck with the timing there, but hopefully the music is priceless
My set is on the way, should get here later in the week.
How do you rate the selection, and the Sonic Q ?
The selection is comprehensive if unsurprising so I had a lot of the tracks already. Not a problem as I like compilations.
I rip to a Unitiserve and play through a Mu-So so sound quality is not that important to me.
Ordered from Amazon today, MrsT wanted Guardians of the Galaxy, there are some great tracks on this album, and I took the liberty to buy a few cd’s for myself so I tacked on the bargain priced 13cd box set from the Byrds and Golden Earring’s Moontan which I had been missing for many years and is unavailable on Qobuz, should never have sold all my vinyl, all those years ago!
Just in time, Kev
The price has gone back up again!
Their first and third…now you just need the second, Absolutely Free, to make the trio
3cd set of songs written or covered by David Bowie, performed by friends, band mates, collaborators and even Bowie himself. £5.99 from Amazon.
MrsT loved Awesome Mix Vol 1 so much so we bought Vol 2, another great mix of superb songs from the likes of ELO, Fleetwood Mac, Sam Cooke, George Harrison and more.
Avishai Cohen Big Vicious
Joan As Police Woman Covers 2
Lera Lynn The Avenues
Sleater Kinney The Centre won’t hold

The Young Rascals - Original Album Series x 5 albums
Hot Rats, Frank Zappa. From Red Eye Records.
Ian Hunter & Mick Ronson, Y U I Orta and BBC Live in Concert, bought from Amazon and Music Magpie. What a great band, they just complemented each other so well. I have some terrific live memories from there concert at the Fairfield Halls on the 30th March 1975 with Jet as support,
That’s an excellent buy for 6 quid. Short Story’s is a wonderful album.
Great bargain I stumbled across on Amazon about 10 days ago. Only had his live album so couldn’t pass this up
I’ve only got a greatest hits. He’s stuff is hard to get here, might go online and see if can track down that box set.
