Hi @krautnaimie I’m a little confused or I have misunderstood your post.
Tone Poet do not duplicate titles from the Classic series, so you cant have an Optimal pressed (Classic) and RTI (Tone Poet) of the same title.
Edit: I dont have Just Coolin’ but I just looked it up and it looks to be part of the Classic series, if you bought it from the US it is still pressed at Optimal. Does it say mastered by Kevin Gray on the back sleeve and manufactured in Germany in the small print along the bottom?

The Just coolin‘ I have is definitely pressed by RTI, I don’t know why but there is also another one from Optimal. It‘s on the cover and also written down at Discogs.

Interesting, I found the one I think your referring to, a 17th July 2020 US issue with pressing at RTI and a 17th July 2020 EU issue with pressing at Optimal.
I cant see this listed as part of the Classic series either so maybe it was a one off re issue simultaneously pressed at Optimal and RTI.
It doesnt surprise me that you find the RTI to sound better.

I’m guessing, but the BN80 series iirc ended in 2019 then the Classic series picked up in 2020. Maybe Just Coolin came out inbetween the two series before Blue Note decided to press the Classic Series for both EU & US at Optimal.

My last vinyl purchase via Bandcamp. No sleeping through this one. White Wizzard : The Devil’s Cut from 2013. Scorching metal (sort of Iron Maiden / Judas Priest).
Latest Tone Poet reissue to land here is Andrew Hill’s Dance with Death. Wow! What a great album this is! From ‘68, I can’t quite believe that it was left in the shelf for so long before being issued. Great sound too and the usual fab gatefold sleeve and photographs. This is up there with my favourite TPs of all.
