November Songs by Carolin No
John Martyn - Solid Air. Delivered a few minutes ago.
I have never (consciously) heard this album in full, but I think that I’ve heard a couple of tracks from it. (I will find out soon enough!)
Enjoy it is stunning
Thanks, sir! I have been intending to buy and listen to this album for ages.
The Apprentice (not Alan Sugar) but John Martyn is also very very good.
One World is also very good. I also like Glorious Fool, though the Phil Collins influence may put some off, making it slightly more commercial in taste.
Looking forward to this might have to wait for a cheaper copy to appear though as my pre orders are stacking right up. I have a Japanese Shelley Manne & His Friends Vol 4 - Swinging Sounds on a King Records pressing from 1974 I’ve not heard a bad sounding Roy DuNann record yet shame he doesn’t get the same recognition as RVG.
He was a better engineeer that RVG Bob – more “naturalistic” I think.
It’s a pure joy. Enjoy.
Plus the Contemporary studio was a back room doubling as LP storage area. Incredible !
Another great engineer from that same West Coast era - Wally Heider.
What’s this like? I’ve just got into Mal Waldron his music is superb !!
It’s excellent as is the mastering and pressing it is a bit pricey though.
Great to see Get The Blessing getting a run out.
That’s a great record, mbear.
I have it too.
I saw Ms Wang in a Brighton Festival concert with the LSO, in which she was playing a new piece by John Adams. She’s a tiny lady, but a very powerful pianist.
