What Was The Last Vinyl You Bought?

There is something about those Reggae 45’s I’m m amassing a few myself.

I’ve been enjoying this one on Apple Music lately and decided to get a copy on vinyl.
For those that like Bossa Nova this is a beautiful record, absolutely recommended.

Charles Mingus - Mingus Ah Um

Such a great sounding Album

Just got a copy of the One step ultra disc pressing. So curious how the Ultradisc Version will sound.

Still sealed:grinning_face:

My new obsession, these guys don’t fit my usual genre what I listen (gothic rock or post-punk) but they are something amazing, kinda dreamy, creative Indie Rock with some good ambient tracks as well

@hereticleigh Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve just had a listen to British Sea Power on YouTube. I will look out for them when u get to visit a record store.

I just pre-ordered the 60th anniversary version of Pet Sounds. Limited to 6000 copies for anyone who would like one before they sell out :+1:

Ditto. I’m listening to then on my way into work and really enjoying their music. Great find! Thanks so much.

A zoetrope-type effect I’m guessing?

A couple of Tone Poet LP releases that I missed out on first time and which were re-pressed during the past year. Both gems.

By strange coincidence, Chuck Israels who is bassist on the Herbie album is about to do some gigs in the UK for the first time since the 1960s, I believe ! Those 60s appearances would have been with Bill Evans.

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Exodus, UHQR 45rpm (2025)

This and the UHQR Rastaman Vibration are the two best sounding Reggae recordings I’ve heard and both are equally as good.

I have several versions of Exodus the Mobile Fidelity, 40th Anniversary and a 2015 reissue and though they all have there merits and all sound excellent the UHQR is way ahead of them all.

Excellent soulful 45 with a stellar vocal performance by Paul Weller.

Anouar Brahem - After The Last Sky, ECM (2025)

Beautiful set of songs ft Anja Lechner, Django Bates and Dave Holland. I bought this used for less than £20 so I don’t mind the creased corner but ECM do love to squeeze double LP’s into a single quite thin sleeve rather than a gatefold.

They charge premium prices for these records and the music and the sound is excellent just let down by the cheap sleeves.

I’m hoping my copy will also appear in the next week or two…

A few new additions + re-bought LG, as the other copy of the vinyl had a defect.
