No offence, that’s sensible. I am actually based in Norway, so we are a little ahead of the UK and more strict, in lockdown terms. So hoefully by the time you guys have come out safe at the end, we will also have proven to be safe.
Also, any income from the tourist industry will certainly be welcome, wherever it comes from and wherever it goes, if it helps alleviate the financial anxiety people are experiencing in Italy. I would imagine that one season wiped out would be catastrophic for those involved in tourism, like my friends.
I don’t see this as a moral issue, but I get your frustrations.
I also don’t think it’s fair to accuse surrounding nations of ‘not helping’ when even Italy was not aware of how serious it was. The events unfolded quite quickly and took everyone by surprise, except perhaps China who seemed to have suppressed reporting the potential outbreak.
Good luck, and I do hope to see my friends in Italy some time later this year.
Hi, only just joined and see this thread is a bit old so hope you dont mind. I’m really feeling bored thanks to lockdown…but have my wonderful music, two cats, lots of food and lots of time…to dream…
Never ever been there, but I’d like to visit Amsterdam…cafes and red light districts…golly did you see the queues for those cafes? must be good over there if they’re prepared to queue like that.
They must think we Brits are daft going nuts just over bog roll
I’m going to sit in the sweet spot and listen to music, like I’m doing now.
Not have to wash my hands all the freakin time. Go get a couple slices of pizza, sit at a table and enjoy it!
Primarily, retain my employment.
Well, I should have been in Florida with kids and grandkids right now but that’s gone. A planned trip to Krakow in May is equally doomed and I have lost loads on the stock market so far.
However, assuming I survive I will not consider stepping outside the UK borders this year as home shores have suddenly become very attractive and searching for something that is not really there is such a waste of time and effort when there is so much to be enjoyed within our own borders. This is, of course, applicable to anyone, anywhere.
What would you like to do after the nCorona/Trump/Brexit/Royal Family is over?
Wake up not knowing what the news is going to be about.
Put my feet up and relax
Never worked so hard while this cr#p is going on…
Go down the pub and order a large Corona.
Strangely My wife and I do not feel bored with all this new time. By the time we have finished the chores of the day its already time to watch the Coronavirus programme on BBC1 which usually starts at about 3.45pm. After that we make the dinner and watch TV and then wash up and more TV or reading or computer time. Frankly for me there is not enough hours in the day for leisure activities. We both in a way have underlying health issues so we are quite pendantic in all wiping down issues, etc…My heart goes out to the front line workers wherever they may be. After coronavirus I expect our normal outside activities will resume if possible.
I just hope that all nations of this world would of learned something out of all of this crisis, maybe there will be less wars and more giving to one and other…
Continue breathing?
Thought we can ask this couple as to what they would do afterward…
Get my SN3 fixed, what a time to fail,so frustrating! In all seriousness, when this is all over I’d just like to see the good will and generosity of the community continue, from what I’ve witnessed it’s been marvellous.
Surly that’s listed as essential services.
I’m starting to think part time work now through to retirement.
Go to the beach and enjoy the sunshine with my family. We could all do with some fresh air.
As a comparison ,many years ago,I had a second hand Ford Escort, which which was ok,however I can remember the day that I had a run up the coast ,and thought, she’s running really well, quieter than normal, just smoother.
The very next day,two piston rings gave up on me! The similarity I’m drawing is that a week or so ago,my system gave me one of those moments,it somehow just reached another level ,and I was thinking,we’ll if we’ve all got to stay at home,at least I have a great system to listen to,then the SN3 failed,I am obviously gutted, but I suppose I have something to look forward to,btw Pete,I am enjoying a lot of your listening choices, quite jealous, have made some notes for future purchases!
Cheers. Have you rang your dealer mine was in the shop last week with the door closed. Managed to get a CD player to test over the weekend. Your guy might be able to help you out. It’s a pity your SN3 can’t be that old, I never really had any problems with my boxes in 25 years. I thought they’re pretty reliable.
