That looks a lovely bottle.
I’ve never taken to ice with neat whisky though. Something about it really spoils the drink. Ice with g&t or in making cocktails is fine but with a dram…not for me.

Yes I know what you’re saying @steviebee although I’ve got to like using a large ice ball which has a very slow melt rate. Having said that I do drink it neat or with water depending on my mood.
A slow melt rate is essential for G&T to maximise chill and minimise dilution.
But for whisky, how to you prevent it from getting too cold?
never ice imo

I was not familiar with this brand of Irish Whiskey.
But I’m familiar now ![]()

smooth, smooth, smooth.
Yum !
On offer at Lidl right now, their Speyside Single Malt.
It’s reduced to £14.99, and isn’t a million miles away from this one, costing anything from £50.00 upwards.
Get it while you can, 'cos at this price it’s an absolute steal.

Glenmorangie 12 about £24 at Costco.
It may well be, but my picture shows the Glenmorangie Lasanta 12, a considerably pricier tipple.
In case anyone is interested, Waitrose No 1 Blended Whisky 8 yr old (made for them by the Ian MacLeod distillery), which I have mentioned before and really rate, is 25% off at the moment and is £17. Excellent vfm and makes a rather good whisky, soda water and ice which is lovely atm
First time, I scored some ” reasonably priced“ OB from the older Springbanks. They really get better with age (21 and 25 from 2024, 30 from 2025), but best VFM is the 15 yo to me…
I was playing golf at Machrihanish golf club this weekend so nipped to Campbeltown and Springbank distillery and picked this up. Not a huge amount of choice even in the distillery shop. The shop staff was saying they are restricted to so few bottles, and these were usually gone an hour after opening.
Yes, small number. I have several in my cupboard, mostly core bottlings and no special releases.

Staying at the Isle of Islay this week and popped in to Ardbeg for a distillery tour. It was excellent, the best I’ve had and included a few takeaway freebies.
