Your Currently Played Favourite Female Vocalist or Group

She lives locally. We’ve seen her live a couple of times. Terrific artist.

It was one of my intentions to see Aldous live this year…but, postpone to next!

All my favourite albums this year where from female artists, already posted them in the album of the year thread.

Just been listening to Jerry Burns, love this track. Can’t understand how someone this talented hasn’t had more of a career.

Mentioned elsewhere I’ve been rehearing some old favourites on the 252/250. Sandy Denny has been played most of this past week. Tonight

Given the amount of Brit awards (I’m not putting any stock in them from a quality perspective) that Annie Lennox has won she doesn’t seem to feature much. Doesn’t really surprise me as I just had to leave the room when she just made an appearance on Andrew Marr show this morning and proceeded to sing one of her songs from her Christmas album, grating doesn’t even get close.

I will acknowledge some of the Eurythmics songs were belters/classics, but solo, she is for me the female Paul McCartney.

Great thread!

Keeping it to currently played would be as follows:-

Neko Case
Kathleen Edwards
Fever Ray
Miranda Lambert
Dua Lipa
Malia
Ashley Monroe
Patti Scialfa

All my favorites were mentioned with the exception of a new female singer I discovered here this year, Heather Newman.
