I’m digital/cd only! You’re safe… :joy:

I’ve always gone for early Mothers meself (Uncle Meat is a stone classic, as is Freak Out, Absolutely Free and Money)…never really adjusted to Howard and co’s vocal shenanigans. Burnt Weeny Sandwich is a little cracker.

But I wonder what classical buffs would make of Frank’s more, um, classical stuff?

Hot Rats I think would be a great start for newbies.

I have ordered those three Zappa LPs from Amazon. I’ll report back in a week or so.

Thanks for the recommendation.

My personal favorite live album Jimi Hendrix Concerts. Had it since my youth and never tire of it. Stella versions of Red House, Hear My Train A Comin, Hey Joe, Bleeding Heart, Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) and Little Wing

Great album, lousy cover art.
Hendrix never looked like Fred Flintstone.

Or had a monobrow.

What Skynyrd were to Atlanta Sue Foley is to Austin. I think this new release is up with the classics.

There are quite a few lurking around, yours truly being one of them. :sunglasses:

I think In the West is better by a country mile. If you’ve not heard it, try it and see what you think.

Make A Jazz Noise Here is a particular (live) Zappa favourite. Use of the synclavier qualifies this mostly instrumental album as interesting I reckon. It’s certainly enjoyable.

I saw these guys live when I was a student, about 1980, they were brilliant. What I do remember was there were quite a few middle age ladies in the audience. ( Well probably about 35, Lol). They had come to see Paul Jones who was big about 15 years earlier. I have the live album, it is great.

Yes, love that too!
