I enquired about this last year more to see if the store had one to look at and try but they didn’t, the store had seen just one at the time and said that they had more people expressing an interest for this model than anything outside of a BLRO and the Stainless Daytonas. I was told that if I wanted one it will at least a 3 year wait maybe a bit longer.
Thankfully I don’t want one as to me it looks like a Submariner, I’m sure that others will feel different.
Bought this with some of the money my colleagues collected when I retired.
No waiting list, but it did take over three weeks to arrive from China.![]()
Finish looks good, gained 12 seconds in a week.
Colour gradient appears to be produced by making the sapphire crystal slightly opaque in the centre. Occasionally the effect doesn’t look quite right in certain lighting conditions.
Thanks @PerF for the recommendation.
Thats a great dial, a bit like the Oris Big Crown watches.
Thanks.
That’s why I bought it. Somebody posted a photo of an Oris green and bronze watch a few years which I was really impressed with.
This is the homage version. Obviously not as good, but more affordable.
Great to hear, looks very good.
Kraken seem to be among the better Homage solutions from China. Still very happy with mine.
Stop fooling yourself. They are rip off copies. Buy them by all means but see them for what they are.
Well made, nice looking, value for money. ![]()
Minimalist is an Explorer. IMO

Quite possibly but they are not a homage - a mark of respect. They are made for profit using someone else’s design.
In 36mm, and my next watch.
I have no quibbles buying so called Homage watches. What didn’t China copy the last decades ?
I’ve purchased more than ten homage watches the last 18 month, crazy ? yes maybe, but I no longer buy records if this help understanding ?.
I really can’t afford very expensive watches like Rolex fx, nor do I wish to buy them if I had the dosh.
To be honest there’s a border line I found the most lousy Chinese watch were waste of money, $100 and below, no surprise.
I have a few Pagani and Phylida, they are ok but Kraken is my best watch, apart from a Steinhart, a Seiko and Omega Geneve I inherited.
I was trying to not be judgemental and totally understand the attraction. I do have a problem though with calling them a homage.
English is not my native, I thought this was the right word, please educate me…
Imitation would be closest I think. It doesn’t ascribe any judgement, positive or negative.
It’s beautiful

Anyone come across Brew Watches? Intriguing. Sorry for the drift
Martin
Or fake, let’s be clear and direct. How different from something bought on the beach?
Same as these Chinese cars that look like Range Rover’s at first glance.
Not really as they don’t copy the trademarks and sell themselves as their own make.
Fake for me is something that has Rolex ( or other known manufacturers names) and are pretending to be the original rather than an imitation. I still wouldn’t buy one but that’s a personal choice.
