Your Watch & Naim

I love mine ….I wear it very rarely these days

Perhaps we could share it? Just send it to me in NZ and we could alternate it 6 monthly with my Seiko alpinist.

I’ve sold my Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Calendar. It’s a lovely watch but something was making me a bit uncomfortable about wearing something that would cost so much to replace should something happen to it. It was my daily wear watch.

I’ve bought another JLC that’s simpler, cheaper and very understated. It’s currently sitting with a delivery company until I return from France. I’m really looking forward to seeing it for real.

Is that a special order from PF, Graham? That reference looks more like IWC’s. Maybe 5117?

No. 5107G

Interesting. Can’t seem to find that reference anywhere. It’s unique. Enjoy it whenever it arrives. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

All these posh watches need a spell in my garage getting some scratches, angle grinder sparks and some weld spatter bonded to the sapphire crystal. Once they have had a decent battering nobody would be worried about wearing it daily.

My Seiko has had all the above and continues to work just fine :watch:

And you could pretend it’s just a quartz watch.

My Calatrava is a 5107

I got that . Nice 37mm case instead of the rather small 34mm in other models.
As for Graham’s, maybe it’s an anomaly in which case it make it even more special.

Exactly. Despite ticking like a quartz, it does have a very cool Gyrolab balance wheel.

Very cool watch!

Love JLC, and that’s a beauty.

This is probably my favourite of those I’ve owned (and there have been a few, to be fair)… Grande Reverso Sun Moon. Not exactly simple, but what a dial and what a movement!

It’s more elegant and has more beauty than your old watch. Great choice!

Was invited over the weekend to a private viewing of the Watches & Wonders ‘26 novelties at the flagship Panerai boutique here in Hong Kong. Some interesting models. Star of the show of course was the Luminor 31 days, a mechanical marvel, but way too big for me.

Too big and too complicated looking for me!

Honestly I’d prefer that one, much better proportioned.

Nigel, they are two very different watches with nothing in common. But at the end of the day it’s a question of personal taste and mainly budget.
I’d have the PF over the GS any time.
