Copy the above into a text file and save it as “Radio Paradise Mellow Mix.m3u”.
Drop it in your playlist folder.
Select and play it as a playlist. You have to start the station in the playlist.
Note no logo and uses only http not https (ok in this case) for some reason.
I have been playing the flac station today and during the last few days without any problem so it is OK.
Suggest you contact Naim Support with the issue @Stevesky
Also why is flac version not on VTuner anyway?
Try the playlist option in the meantime if you can.
The FLAC versions won’t work on the old platforms without some additional ‘help’. This could be via Kurt’s solution mentioned by ElMarko, or it used to be via a combo of BubbleUPNP and/or Minimserver (although I don’t remember the exact setup).
That’s not good - when is the ‘help’ cavalry arriving?
Flac is becoming the in thing these days for many radio stations.
Did you try the playlist method I posted above.
As it is avoiding the Naim Radio it may work as it is sending a flac stream to play like your music files.
What server/NAS do you use for your music files?
I also have BubbleUPnP and that will play the playlist.
The cavalry will have to be external to Naim - they have no plans to change this for the old platform.
I did manage to get the playlist method working on my NDS when I had it. That was my point - folks who want to play the FLAC streams on the old platform will need some form of work-around.
Sorry @GavinB and @segelmatt Got a bit mixed up who I was replying to.
Segelmatt I hope Naim support can sort out the problem for you by adding flac version to VTuner for the SuperUniti.
The URL http://stream.radioparadise.com/rock-flacm
is ok and works in a browser.
Here’s the thread for Kurt’s cloud solution for legacy streamers.
It allows FLAC/lossless integration for iRadio on legacy streamers. It works without fail in my experience. The screen grab I posted above is from vtuner. If you add his station it should work for you I think.
I also have a Minimstreamer (installed on QNAP) solution I use in conjunction with a m3u playlist file for all the flac/lossless radio stations.
Yes, I used it with my SU and using it with my 272 currently. Both legacy streamers. Legacy streamers now have 2 FLAC/lossless radio streaming options.
Digressing slightly. I have a problem with https stations in my playlist. Most https stations work with http, but I have one that does not. #EXTINF:0,Jazz 24/7 GBH (WGBH) (Boston, USA) https://streams.audio.wgbh.org:8117/Jazz24-7
Have you encountered this issue?
Also have you been able to add logos.
I haven’t had issues with https. My chillout station uses it and it works fine.
I searched out the logos on the web and saved them in the same folder where my m3u file resides on the QNAP. Name the logo file as the same name as your radio station label and it should work.
Am now happily playing RP Mellow Mix MQA through my new (demo!) Bluesound Node - no dropouts so far, and the sound appears to be excellent!
(If only BlueOS setup instructions were better, I’d have been listening three days ago…but they neglected one rather important piece of networking info. Sigh.)
