What is the collection/list you refer too?
I said I hope it sounds good as there are a lot of dodgy labels in the world of Ja music that bootleg material from unofficial sources.
Looks like your CD is a re issue of this 10" LP, also issued under the title One In A Million,
I see from Discogs that Reactive are claiming copyright, which doesnt seem right.
Anyway be interested in your thoughts
I do have a slight bias when it comes to this CD, the pianist is the son of my best friend.
That said, it’s still a very well recorded first album, as you would expect from Naxos Records.
Me too! My OCD forces me to turn the booklet round so that the pips align with the staples (assuming there are staples, of course).
Sadly, Lars Vogt is no longer with us to perform - a throat cancer victim, if my memory is correct.
I know. that’s why the recital I have attended is more dear. His down to earth warm personality shone through. One recital it was one of the most miserable night in Chicago with a ton of rain and floods everywhere and half of the hall was empty. He was so gratfull for those who showed up!
From a SQ perspective, the CD is pretty good, just a bit bass light, unless that’s normal for this guy. For me, the bass is pushed way back in the background and should be more prominent.

Also has a different track order, with an omission and additions. Anyway, this is the version I needed. The music is good, but I have yet to listen to the lyrics properly.
No thats definitely not right. I wonder if they mastered off a vinyl copy (needledrop)

Good on you. I’ve cancelled my original order with Amazon and have placed an order at Badlands, which is selling the two sets for >£7 less. I suspect the Amazon order will still turn up and I’ll have to go through the hassle of the return process.

Good point. I was intentionally looking at the vinyl to be fair, but a CD copy of this would be quite acceptable
