Hi,
A lot has been written about sigma. But this cable really had transformed my system as well as my mind in respect of „what a digital cable can have an effect“ I think it deserves a thread.
I will copy in some of my comments and hope it is ok, when I do it for some of @Geko comments as well.
Guess what…?

First impressions?
Back to sigma!
Omega is:
better in noise reduction
deeper soundstage
a bit darker in presentation
more energy and drive and some edges (good ones)
a bit more held back presentation
Sigma:
more upfront
voices are better (more emotional)
a bit brighter (soundwise like naim a bit focused in upper mids)
less energetic and therefore more relaxed or smooth
less deep soundstage
equal in resolution (that was surprising) - maybe this will come with …
I’m glad we’ve both found the missing piece to our musical puzzle. I’m still marvelling at the delicacy and power it manages to portray at exactly the same time. I’m guessing that the harshness you hear is actually the ‘noise’ we are all trying to get rid of. Some cables shape this noise to a point where we like it. It’s only when you hear a cable that seems to remove the noise that you start to understand the impact that has on the music. It’s working really well on my LPS but I feel I may have…
Your description makes perfect sense as it’s exactly what I’m finding with the Sigma. There is no emphasis on any area of the music. Everything I’ve used to date seems to push something at you, be it vocals, bass, midrange, or something else. The Sigma just seems to be the perfect neutral but, at the same time, it seems to be able to pull off some incredible feats when rendering music and only seems to emphasise what the musicians want you to hear in what they are playing. The tonality is the ot…
I will try to get a listen to Diamond if I can but I was never a great lover of Vodka. It just didn’t gel in my system. It was too ‘in your face’ and lacked refinement.
I’m still constantly being surprised with Shunyata as there’s little things that pop up that I’ve just never heard or realised were even there. I love what it does to vocals and I love the timing. It’s just, as you say, so musical. I was listening to a track of an orchestra tuning up before their performance and the realism was …
I’m still using the Shunyata Sigma I’ve borrowed from a friend and am blown away with just how good it is. I know, it’s mental money, but I seriously trying to square the economics in my head. The shear weight and tonal accuracy it adds is simply unreal. There’s not a track I’ve played where it’s anything other than utterly amazing. There’s so much more new information to comprehend, little pushes and dynamic interplays I’m hearing make it all so much more enjoyable. As for the timing it’s just …
I’ll try to describe the sound as best as I can. Yes, it’s very full bodied with a lot more weight to everything. Bass is so much more accurate and fast. Vocals are particularly well handled and convey a lot of emotion and subtle inflections that I’ve never heard on other cables. It’s the subtle stuff where the Shunyata seems to excel. An audience talking, applause, musicians tuning-up all sound wonderful. When the music gets going there is a real build in tension, the way the music moves dynami…
Now it is settled!
Sigma is running for 5 days … it is getting better and better.
Geko‘s description is spot on.
It is so accurate and fast with punch and texture. The small things is what counts - people talking in distance - musicians moving their instruments. All is together and fully immersive.
Almost like an box upgrade - yes it is.
Switched back to diamond today. Diamond can do voices but this only as they appear more upfront… with diamond all is overly polished like you sealed the mu…
Sorry for the delayed reply…I have been exploring the wilds of Scotland on the NC500.
Very pleased that yourself and @drago appear to have experienced similar results to mine with the SR Sigma in place. Once again your description of the effect this cable has is spot on. The lack of ‘noise’ is amazing and gives the sound a warm airy texture that is very detailed and clean. I found that the AQ Diamond adds a little more ‘attack’ and excitement. The combination of the two cables connected from …

@Lucifer wonders if you have tried Neotech? He’s in the mountains now having a Swedish snaps so he have asked me to do the sales talk for a couple of weeks. Hope this is ok.
PS: Ansuz D2 is also very good.

What are you taking about „sales talk“?
Tried my very best to be funny but it didn’t work

Currently again in such moment where the sound just seems not from this world - and the colour and finesse is definitely sigma based.
If I have to put in one word - it is „analog“ - yes it really sounds like vinyl with all its involving micro detail and texture

Paid my mate today. I’m now the proud owner of a Shunyata Sigma ethernet cable!

Have you evaluated Shunyata on other places? Their speaker cables and power cables are supposed to be very good.

I think you should decide wisely if you go through that door - there power blocks are also very good, and… and …

There’s one problem with that cable: you can’t write it using initials. Not allowed.

I use their Venom power distributor and just added the Venom power cable to my Nagra amp.
Nice uplift instantly, so looking forward to what happens as I get hours on it. My dealer recommended this one because of its heavier gauge, to use specifically on power amps.
I use fibre for streaming, so no real place to try Ethernet, because wouldn’t it be a waste between my modem and switch if the last leg to streamer is fibre?
